Congressman Chris Smith addressed his colleagues on the floor of the House of Representatives today during debate on H.R. 3962, legislation to massively overhaul health care delivery in the United States. The Congressman spoke against the bill, but in favor of an amendment to H.R. 3962 to bar public funding of abortion in the the proposal health care bill. The bipartisan amendment, which was fashioned by Reps. Bart Stupak (D-MI), Joe Pitts (R-PA), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Kathleen Dahlkemper (D-PA) and Dan Lipinski (D-IL), passed 240-194.
