SUMMARY OF MAIN PROVISIONS
The Combating Autism Reauthorization Act (as incorporated in P.L. 112-32):

Amends the Public Health Service Act to extend and reauthorize through FY2014 the surveillance and research program for autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities;

Extends and reauthorizes through FY2014 the education, early detection, and intervention program for autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities;

Extends and reauthorizes through FY2014 the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee.

Authorizes appropriations for years 2011 through 2014 for continuing the Developmental Disabilities Surveillance and Research Program, Autism Education, Early Detection, and Intervention, and the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee.

Authorizes appropriations annually through 2014 of up to $22 million for surveillance through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC);

Authorizes appropriations annually through 2014 of up to $48 million for early detection, professional training and the development of effective interventions through the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA); and
-
Authorizes appropriations annually through 2014 of up to $161 million for autism research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
