Today President Obama vetoed H.R. 3762, American’s Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, a bill that passed both the House and Senate which would bar Planned Parenthood from receiving taxpayer dollars.
“Subsidized by over $500 million taxpayer dollars each year, Planned Parenthood dismembers or chemically poisons a baby to death every two minute–killing over seven million innocent children since 1973,” said Congressman Chris Smith, Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Pro-Life Caucus. “Planned Parenthood is Child Abuse, Incorporated.
“The House and the Senate have spoken, reflecting the will of the American people, and sent a bill to President Obama’s desk that would bar Planned Parenthood from the vast majority of taxpayer dollars it currently receives.
“And now the President has spoken, rejecting our bill and condoning Planned Parenthood’s cruel and inhumane actions.
“Undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress have brought into sharp focus the brutal reality of abortion.
“Did President Obama watch those videos before he vetoed this bill? If he had, he would see that in one clip, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of Planned Parenthood Federation of America's Medical Services, says on camera:
‘We have been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, and because we know that, I am not going to crush that part. I am going to basically crush below, I am going to crush above, and I am going to see if I can get it all intact . . . I would say a lot of people want liver; and for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they will know where they are putting their forceps.’
“This is a dismemberment abortion—arms, legs, torsos, decapitation—but the prized body part is preserved, pulled out intact, and then sold to brokers. This is violence against children.
“We will not be deterred in exposing this Planned Parenthood scandal, no matter how aggressive and misleading the cover-up,” Smith concluded.
