Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) released the following statement after a terror attack in New York City killed eight people and injured 11:

My wife, Marie and I join all those who grieve and pray for the innocent victims of today’s horrific terrorist attack in New York City—those killed in the attack, their families, as well as those injured and the bystanders who had to witness this atrocious act of violence. We offer our sincere gratitude to the brave members of the New York Police Department who moved fast to stop the perpetrator and thereby save additional lives that could have been lost.
