Today, President Trump stated the obvious—we know that Russia meddled in the election. He said further that he has "full faith and support" in the conclusion reached by the intelligence agencies in their investigation. This clarification is welcomed and, frankly, expected.
In direct contradiction to Putin’s denials of the Russian state interfering in U.S. elections, I have read the Mueller indictment and have called on the Department of Justice to Red Notice the 12 Russian intelligence officers using the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), so they could be apprehended any time they leave Russia and then transferred to the United States for full prosecution.
Last week, after I led a 13-member U.S. delegation in a bilateral meeting with the Russian delegation in Berlin, I know that frank dialogue can be constructive. We need to continue to pursue opportunities for meetings with Russian leaders where we can push the critical issues of election meddling, Syria, Ukraine, cyber attacks, terrorism, political violence and human trafficking.
