Smith is the founder and Chairman of the Congressional Lyme Disease Caucus, and has authored more than a dozen comprehensive bills on fighting Lyme disease, focusing on the need for a national strategy on Lyme which includes more accurate prevalence studies, better diagnostic testing, and more effective prevention and treatment.
