The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is offering faith-based, community and nonprofit partners the opportunity to participate in an upcoming webinar program about FEMA grants to enhance security at nonprofits, said Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ).

“I encourage groups to participate in one of the webinars to learn about a FEMA grant program to improve security,” Smith said. “Faith communities and other non-profits have been targets of hate and violence, and this grant is available to address issues of prevention of and preparation for potential threats.”

FEMA’s Grant Programs Directorate, in a partnership with the DHS Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives, is inviting faith-based, community and nonprofit partners to participate in one of three upcoming webinars regarding the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP).

The NSGP is a potential funding source for target-hardening and other physical security enhancements to nonprofit organizations, and promotes emergency preparedness coordination and collaboration between public and private community representatives, as well as state and local governments. Additional program information about the NSGP can be found at https://www.fema.gov/nonprofit-security-grant-program, and information about other grants can be found at https://www.fema.gov/grants.

Each webinar will present the same information: an overview of the NSGP, information on grant program eligibility and allowable costs, and a moderated question-and-answer session.

• Start Time: 2:30 p.m. ET
