Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ), Co-Chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus, applauded the humane decision by Trump Administration Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) Doug Collins to reverse the illegal 2022 Biden Administration policy, which forced taxpayers to pay for abortion-on-demand in VA healthcare facilities, and released the following statement:

              "In reversing the Biden Administration’s VA abortion policy, President Trump and Secretary Collins both honor the will of the American people, who do not support their taxpayer dollars paying for abortions, and affirm that VA healthcare facilities are places to heal, not violently end the lives of unborn children through the grisly act of abortion.

              "As former chairman of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, I have always deeply respected and strongly supported the unique mission of VA healthcare, which Biden—the Abortion President—undermined and threatened with his abortion obsession.

              "President Trump’s compassionate reversal of Biden’s illegal rule restores longstanding law and bipartisan consensus and allows the VA to remain focused on life-saving, life-enhancing healthcare, rather than taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand."
