What: Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ) will join with House colleagues to support the swift confirmation of John Roberts as Chief Justice of the United States.

“Judge Roberts is a highly qualified nominee and a fair and unbiased judge committed to equal justice under the law,” said Smith. “No one should use the national spotlight to politicize the judicial confirmation process.

“I have been impressed by the substantive and dignified manner in which Judge Roberts has carried himself during this process,”
Smith added. “Justice Roberts deserves an up-or-down confirmation vote before October 1.”

The press conference will be joined by Roberts supports from across the nation.

We may not have a vote, but we can raise our voices in support.
