Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-4) made the following statement today regarding news that the United States Postal Service has declared the Brentwood Post Office in Washington to be environmentally safe: 

    “As the United States Postal Service works to move and reassemble its cleaning equipment in Hamilton, I will continue my efforts to make sure local officials, residents, and businesses are kept fully apprised about the process and specific measures to ensure safety. 

    “Safety must be the Post Office’s paramount concern with regard to the cleaning process. When the doors of the Hamilton Post Office are reopened, every single employee and customer must be assured that they are in a safe environment. 

    “We will stay focused and dedicated to ensuring that the health and safety of every postal employee, postal customer, and neighbor of the facility is guaranteed.”
