Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-4) made the following statement today regarding the use of force in Iraq:

“My prayers and thoughts are with the soldiers who are putting their lives on the line so that Americans will be safe and the Iraqi people may soon be free.  It is my deepest hope that this military action will be swift and result in the smallest number of casualties.

“As these soldiers fulfill their duties, I will continue my work as Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee to do all I can to make sure our country honors the commitments made to these men and women who put their lives on the line for our freedom.”
