Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-4) made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decisions today regarding Internet Sex Offender Registries.

     “The Supreme Court’s decision gives communities and law enforcement agencies an added, powerful tool to further protect children and families by making sure parents know as much information as possible about convicted sex offenders who live amongst them.  

     “Today’s ruling should empower more states to craft more stringent guidelines for registering convicted sex offenders.”
